Ryan and Amys Wedding – Curradine Barns Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is my passion.  I love the excitement, that no day is ever the same, the incredible buzz of knowing that people are putting their faith in me to capture the most important day of their lives and to know that in years to come, generation after generation will be looking at photos that I have taken.   But it goes without saying that alongside all the joy, there is a hell of a lot of pressure.

Curradine Barns Wedding Photography at its finest.

Now there is pressure, and there is next level pressure.  Imagine being asked to be the photographer for a family friend who you have known all your life, you were next door neighbours and regularly played together (I know I overstayed my welcome most of the time…Sorry Kathy!) and who you not only have the hugest respect for personally but (queue Eastenders style duff duff) they are the most incredible fellow suppliers in the wedding industry and really know their stuff!!!  That is the ultimate pressure, and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to share in such a special couple’s day.

Ryan and Amy were introduced by Amy’s brother who were already really good friends as well as all their children playing together regularly so it was clear their paths were meant to cross, and it was just a matter of time…even though they will both tell you it was only meant to be a one-night stand (inside joke!).  I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason and Ryan and Amy were definitely written in the stars.

Now tell me you are in the wedding supplier elite without telling me you are in the wedding supplier elite.  By choosing the best suppliers out there of course (without blowing my own trumpet!!!).  Curradine Barns was the obvious choice and needs no introduction.  It’s beautiful rustic, brick exterior with stylish and seamless modern touches and as soon as you walk in, its warm, inviting and feels like home for the day.  The perfect choice.

Amy’s stunning dress was from TDR Bridal and had a beautiful lace overlay with a plunging, off the shoulder neckline and beautiful lace detailed train.  The bridesmaids also looked stunning in a pastel powder blue complimenting the Groomsmen’s tie and pocket squares in their very dapper navy suits.

As wonderful as the adults looked though, the kids definitely stole the show that day.  I love photographing the mischief and fun of kids at weddings and I don’t think I have ever known such a photogenic and well behaved bunch in my life before.

Despite my wedding morning nerves (never mind the bride and grooms!!) there was nothing but the feeling of love and happiness when I arrived.  The children were happy and playful, and everything was so relaxed (apart from John who was trying to make the bubble machine work.  Lol!).  The bridal party had the incredible Bridal by Artists and Sam Payton-Smith for hair and make-up who did an incredible job as always.

Curradine Barns is such a special venue and has the wow factor the moment you walk in but when you add the beautiful venue décor from The Wedding House, it really adds a special touch.  Ryan and Amy went for beautiful white sashes, side swept on each chair with candles and white petals lining the aisle and a floral archway and table swag at the top of the beautiful Granary Barn for their ceremony.  The dried petal confetti cones and beautiful stationary was designed and created by Ryan’s mum, the hugely talented Kathy from Weddings by Kathy B and everything looked perfect.

The floral bouquets from Bluebells of Droitwich were a simple and elegant design of vintage white roses with complimenting greenery and matched the floral displays, swags and archway in the ceremony room perfectly.

The ceremony was wonderful, and you couldn’t stop both Amy and Ryan from beaming all the way through (which made my job nice and easy!).  There was one particular bridesmaid though who had to wear multiple hats for the day and not only be a bridesmaid and a new sister-in-law but also sang beautifully for the bridal procession. Beth is an incredible talent with such a beautiful voice.  This family really are like the Von-Trapps (think Sound of Music for any youngsters not picking up on the reference to an old school musical!) for the wedding industry.

The new Mr and Mrs Berrey then made their way outside for their welcome drinks in lovely courtyard at Curradine Barns and it was the perfect opportunity to get some informal group shots of the family without eating too much into their day.

Guests were then taken through to the beautiful Barley Barn for the wedding feast to begin.  Again, with the help of The Wedding House the tables were decorated with crisp white linen, a navy tulle runner with matching serviettes and more beautiful stationary and favours from Weddings by Kathy B.

Guests were treated to a comforting (and very tasty) ham and leek pie followed by Eton Mess (considering the kids ate theirs on the bench in the courtyard, they stayed remarkably clean!) and then it was into the heartwarming and very funny speeches.  You can’t beat a good old reaction photo!

I then managed to steal Ryan and Amy away for some time to reflect and get some natural couples’ shots.  The light was in such a gorgeous position and gave the photos a lovely golden hue in the pretty gardens at Curradine Barns.  As the kids (and John!) were more than happy playing with the bubbles in the courtyard, we managed to escape a bit further afield into the meadows and fields surrounding the venue and caught the most beautiful sunlight, creating a lovely silhouette effect.

As the evening guests began to arrive, out came the essential part of any wedding…. the crisp wall!  An amazing idea to revitalise guests and even better when chased up with a donut form the donut stand!  Alongside this, Amy and Ryan provided the evening food of sausage and bacon baps, so the menu really was to die for.

The evening entertainment was provided by none other than Jam Productions who have worked at the lovely Curradine Barns so many times now I have lost count, but they seem to get better every time.

Finally, the end of the night was marked with some epic sparkler shots to see off the wedding of the year with a bang.

Ryan and Amy, it has been an absolute joy to be with you through all those special moments and for your trust in me, I am really truly grateful.
