I can’t quite believe its only been a month since the beautiful wedding of Lorna and Adam at the incredible Worcestershire Wedding Venue, Birtsmorton Court (@BirtsCourt) and what a day it was!! The sun was shining, and you genuinely cannot beat a May wedding at Birtsmorton as the grounds come to life with blossoms and blooms that give off real fairytale vibes. And it goes without saying that Adam and Lorna deserved nothing less than the fairytale!
They had been in touch only a few months before to book their wedding after deciding that life was way too short to wait around following a few health scares. Lorna proposed to Adam whilst he was in hospital having some tests and unbeknown to her, Adam was planning to do the same a week later on a mini break in London. There is something pretty special about both of them having a proposal and no matter how many weddings I have seen now, it certainly brought a tear to my eye when they exchanged vows.
They chose to have a private ceremony in the stunning White Garden with just their daughters witnessing which was such a magical and emotional moment. As a blended family, the love between them all was just so natural and (as the photographer, I probably shouldn’t say this but…) the photos just don’t do it justice.
Being a Worcestershire wedding photographer, its always a pleasure coming back to Birtsmorton Court, the staff are amazing and so accommodating.
After their private ceremony, Adam and Lorna joined the rest of their guests in the impressive Great Hall for a more formal ceremony. Lorna wowed everyone with her stunning and totally unique gown from @FloraandLane along with her lovely bridesmaids in complimenting floral gowns in olive green. Adam looked the part too with his olive green tweed suit from Empire Outlet (@empireoutletco) and burnt orange buttons blending perfectly with the bridal bouquets that were designed and put together by Lorna. The bridal party had the talented @rebeccahainesmakeupandhair in the morning and the extra special finishing touches of the rings and jewellery from award winning goldsmith, Isabella Day (@isabella_day_goldsmith).
The drinks reception was held on the terrace overlooking Birtsmorton’s iconic moat and we had plenty of time for Lorna and Adam to sneak off for some photos in the extensive and incredible grounds of their lovely venue. As if having the medieval moated court wasn’t enough to capture your hearts but then you see the grounds and gardens! I could have kept them there all day taking photos by giant apple trees, beautiful original stone walls covered in wisteria, wrought iron gates and sculptures and archways of flowers but their guests were waiting and what better way to be announced in to their wedding breakfast other than by their beautiful daughters, Isla and Esme.
Lorna and Adam chose the incredible Brookes Catering for their special day and everything looked, smelled and tasted perfect. On the menu was the most comforting yet decadent steak and ale pie with mash and veg with no less than a trio of options for dessert!! What a menu! We also need to give some major credit to Lorna and Adam for their cake option too! Now, I love a wedding cake like most people but to have the option of cake and a Krispy Kreme donut….surely that is what dreams are made of!
The happiest of days was made even more special with the announcement of another bundle of joy on the way for Lorna and Adam….the cherry on top of the cake! Congratulations to such a special little family and thank you so much for asking me to be a part of it all.
It certainly wouldn’t be a Birtsmorton wedding without an incredible sunset and of course a non-stop party with Trick Production providing the entertainment and photo booth.
“Brilliant! You did your photography in the background of the day so we felt comfortable and relaxed enough to get on with our day. We are just really happy with the photos of our day. It was such a relaxed, perfect, happy day for us and we can relive that day again and again with the photos.”
